The Truth?

The Epidermis never thins, it SLOWS down.

Why?

The skin’s number one priority is to maintain the epidermis at all costs, and loss of this layer would ultimately lead to death (through infection, tissue loss, damage, etc).

Example - Think of patient in a hospital who is a quick victim of death threatening burns. Doctors lay out all measures to heal and protect the epidermis to prevent infection from setting and spreading throughout the rest of the body.

With this in mind, this gives validation and confirmation that the skin will never let it thin out. The skin only slows down to how quickly it is able to regenerate and renew itself, and it all depends on how extreme the damage is.

What if I told you that over exfoliating (otherwise known as Chronic Exfoliation) will have a similar effect as a burn injury?
